As an internationally active one-stop partner for high-quality components, we combine more than 30 years of experience with our Northcomp spirit of innovation. Both have gained more and more depth and shape during our journey in the market so far. As a result, we are better equipped for future projects than ever before.


2020

Hall acquisition - additional commercial space added at the site

The additional planned expansion at the Hückeswagen site has come just in time. In recent years, we have been able to gain new customers thanks to the favourable economic development. However, our warehouse could not be expanded due to further logistics improvements. With the purchase of a neighbouring plot of land, we are now ideally equipped for the future at the Hückeswagen site.

Our own solar system

Integrating sustainability in all areas has long been an important part of our company philosophy. It was therefore only logical for us to implement our own solar energy system in order to utilise the power of the Bergisch sun in the future. 180 solar modules were installed on the huge area of the warehouse and assembly halls at the Hückeswagen headquarters, forming the basis of a new solar energy system and supplying 59 KW of energy. That's enough to supply us throughout the day - and beyond.

Wings - a design of tomorrow, today

The design language of the future - for furniture ideas of today. Solid aluminium and strong lines in aviation design - that's the new "Wings" base.

2016

30 years of proroll

It's unbelievable what has happened at proroll over the last three decades. From very small beginnings as a roller retailer in a backyard, the company has developed into an internationally active producer and wholesaler. Times have not always been rosy, as there have been ups and downs to which we have had to react. However, we have always looked to the future and have grown with every challenge.

2015

100 m² QA centre

A quality test is good. Endurance tests are even better! That's why we have been running extensive endurance tests on various articles in our brand new test centre for a few weeks now. Here, modern test machines now complement the comprehensive quality assurance management at the Hückeswagen site. In the new test centre, we verify our suppliers' products, regularly update our own test data and determine the technical properties of our own products, developments and innovations.

2014

We are developing the Berlin foot cross series

In 2014, the development of a completely new range of crucifixes was on the agenda. And our think tank was successful. The question: What does the market need, what shape fits in with current furniture designs? Our answer: Berlin - clear structures, minimalist design. At interzum 2015, we presented the Berlin series to the convinced experts.

2013

We continue to grow

After the idea to expand was born in 2012, we drew up plans and tackled the expansion of 1,600 m2. This gave us more space for component assembly "Made in Hückeswagen" and for the development of customised components. What began with a manageable stock of a few boxes and cartons has developed into a real success story. Today, 22 permanent employees generate a turnover of around 10 million euros. With an export quota of 32% and business activities in over 30 countries, the name proroll is recognised throughout Europe and even beyond in countries such as the USA and Australia.

2011

Foot cross series London

Our innovative London_345 star base series is a modern classic with a high aesthetic appeal. Our fully cast aluminium component is "Made in Europe" and is now on its triumphal march.

2010

Office chair race

For the first time, proroll is sponsoring the "office chair race" - a crazy event in which traditional office furniture is given a real boost. A point of honour: Team proroll throws itself onto the course!

2008

Planning for the future

In 2008, the cramped situation in Industriestrasse is no longer fun; the increasing component assembly in Hückeswagen requires more space and the outsourced storage capacities are inefficient and cost-intensive. In January, a new series of transport rollers is launched - and proroll breaks ground to combine administration, assembly and storage in a modern domicile. Home at last: Building plans become reality - Heinrich-Schicht-Straße provides the ideal location for the huge new building. At last, we have our own home, completely customised for proroll!

2007

5 million euros turnover

Our turnover has increased by 3 million euros since 2003. Demand continues to rise and we will soon have to build another 400 m2 high-bay warehouse!

1999

Own castor series & furniture components

proroll develops from a trading company into a manufacturer. Using its own moulds, the company produces its own star bases and apparatus castors at home and abroad. This allows quality standards to be set right from the design stage. The product portfolio is expanded to include a second area: chair and furniture components.

1997

interzum in Cologne

The product range has been intensively revised and reorganised in recent years. The new focus for products and customers is now the furniture industry and shopfitting.

1991

On the trail of success

After taking over the shares from Reinhold Kohn, sales manager Stefan Fornahl becomes managing partner in 1991. Turnover had already more than doubled by then. The difficult new start just 5 years earlier has given way to dynamic growth - up to DM 1.8 million!

1989

Nordstraße 90 in Remscheid

While the Bergisches Land is once again shovelling snow, it's time for another change at proroll - the move to larger premises. From 1989, 600 m2 of space is available for the wheel and castor range in an old car workshop. The company's first major growth spurt takes place at this location in the following years.

Stefan Fornahl completes his vocational training and brings new impetus and fresh ideas to the company as sales manager.

1988

Hardware fair

Business begins to take off - 2 years after the takeover of the roller business, the new company proudly presents itself at the hardware fair in Cologne. The programme is aimed primarily at the hardware trade and industry.

1987

Elberfelder Strasse 112

While the MIR space station was launched into orbit in the same year as a technical pioneering feat, we were busy taking stock in Remscheid. But we didn't just count the screws and rollers in stock, we also thought about new products that could catapult the company into a higher orbit. In 1987, the current Managing Director Stefan Fornahl began his training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant.

1986

The origin

It all started on 3 February. The proroll story began with an inventory of DM 30,000. At that time, in that uncomfortable winter in the Bergisches Land, nobody would have thought what a success story it would become. In February, Mr Fornahl Senior became one of the restructuring shareholders of "Rollentechnik Kohn" - a rather small wholesaler for wheels and castors. This was the origin of the later proroll.
