The environment and sustainability are very important to us. Because we take responsibility - this is firmly anchored in our brand and is part of what we mean when we say "exploring for people". We have realised the importance of sustainability and therefore consistently integrate it into our actions. We see environmental protection and sustainability not as an obligation, but as an opportunity to find even better solutions. In this way, we ensure that we will continue to exist as a future-proof, sustainable family business in the long term.

We are living the energy transition

Our 60 kWp photovoltaic system is precisely tailored to Northcomp. It covers almost all of our electricity needs for an entire year - and enables our team and customers to charge their electric cars on site free of charge. Combined with our switch to LED lighting, we have significantly reduced our CO2 emissions.

Revolutionising reduction, inspiring reuse, perfecting recycling

Reduce

If you want to achieve ambitious goals, you have to start taking action. For example, we have reduced our residual waste bins to a minimum of 240 litres for 14 days in order to reduce waste. Initially a challenge, the company quickly adapted - supported by easier waste separation for our team.

We are also constantly working on optimising existing packaging solutions with our Northcomp packaging method. This provides the necessary transport protection and saves many hundreds of kilometres of stretch film every year. After all, the most environmentally friendly packaging is the one that you don't use in the first place. For us, every gram counts.

Reuse

Much of the packaging material we receive is still perfectly good and suitable for protecting our components during shipping. So that you can see straight away that you are receiving a Northcomp package, we have developed a sticker that covers other company logos. After all, good design starts with the packaging.

Recycle

Paper and plastic recycling have been important cornerstones at Northcomp for many years. We endeavour to separate and recycle raw materials. A total of 98% of our packaging can currently be fed into a raw material cycle, 80% of which already comes from renewable raw materials.

EcoVadis rating

Northcomp is among the top 15 per cent

We are always happy to put Northcomp's sustainability to the test. For example, with the EcoVadis rating, which assesses global supply chains. Northcomp has repeatedly achieved a silver rating in the areas of environment, ethics, labour and human rights and sustainable procurement, placing it in the top 15% of companies.

Environmental management according to ISO 14001

Northcomp's environmental management is certified to ISO 14001. This means that we fulfil a globally accepted and recognised standard for sustainable management throughout planning, implementation, monitoring and improvement.
